PATTERN
Herringbone
DESC
This method forms a herringbone pattern which has got its name because it resembles the skeleton of a herring fish. One of the Japanese traditional patterns yabane (“arrow fletching”) may be called a herringbone as well. As for the pattern of matched wood veneers, it is called yabari (“arrow fletching combinations”) and creates an effect of optical illusion when the dark and light spots look vice versa.
